Imagine attending Ohio’s only all-male public academy, a high school where you start each day in a morning session of encouragement and accountability, and where there are mentors on call 24-7.
This is a progressive, but disciplined, academy with dual enrollment at Cuyahoga Community College and Cleveland State University, where a partnership with HealthCorps provides nutritional support for each student, and where renowned speakers such as educator and author Stedman Graham appear regularly.
At Ginn Academy, you can choose to partner with local industry in several fields including:- Lincoln Electric
- O.T.C.O – Ohio Technical College
- E.C.E.C – Early College Early Career
- Construction
- Manufacturing 101 and 102
Ginn Academy focuses on higher education – beginning college tours as early as the freshman year – and careers, with the Career Center providing advice and lining up jobs for interested students each summer at the Northeast Ohio Regional Sewer District.

Ginn Academy Tardy Policy

Per CMSD Student Code of Conduct (pg.4): Parents, guardians, or legal custodians are expected to stress regular and timely school attendance as required by law (Ohio Revised Code 3321.38)
3 tardies in a weekSaturday SchoolNo show to Saturday School2 Day Suspension with amandatory Return with Parent3 tardies in a week will result in Saturday school. Saturday School is held on the second and fourth Saturday of each month. Saturday School is from 8 am until 10 am.
Any Student who receives 3 tardies will report to the next scheduled Saturday School.
Any student who receives three tardies after the second or fourth Saturday will attend Saturday School on the following 2nd or 4th Saturday.

Ginn center will prepare students, adults for college and career
Ginn Academy will add a center where students, alumni, their families and even the community can take online assessments of their interests and aptitudes, train for jobs and apply or plan for postsecondary education.

Ginn Academy is on this year’s list of America’s Healthiest Schools.
A dozen CMSD schools made the Alliance for a Healthier Generation’s list, which began in 2006, singles out schools for promoting exercise, nutrition and safety among students and staff.

Cleveland Teacher Wins National Grant to Study Education in Ghana
05/07/2025 The Cleveland Observer - Quelina Jordan-Shaw, a high school teacher at Cleveland Metropolitan Remote School, has been selected as a 2025 Fund for Teachers Fellow. She will receive a $4,964 grant to travel to Ghana this summer, where she will study how schools there teach career and entrepreneurship education.
