Images of students from CMSD’s Campus International K-8 School are among those on a new windscreen that lines the Euclid Avenue bridge above the Inner Belt.
Artist Darius Steward’s work went up on both sides of the bridge Thursday and was formally unveiled Friday.
The bridge connects areas served by Midtown Cleveland and the Campus District, two nonprofit community development corporations. Cleveland Neighborhood Progress Inc., which provides support to the city's CDCs, awarded a $12,000 Neighborhood Solutions Grant for the project.
The grants are for innovative projects that are unique and catalytic, Joel Ratner, president and CEO of Cleveland Neighborhood Progress, said at the unveiling. He said the addition of the windscreen would improve the area by creating a stronger sense of security.
The bridge borders Cleveland State University, where Campus International K-8 School and Campus International High School are located.
