The Cleveland School of the Arts inaugurated the school's new black box theater over the weekend with a powerful production based on the riots that racked Los Angeles in 1992 and the aftermath of that turmoil.

"Twilight: Los Angeles 1992" was written and originally performed as a one-woman play by actress, playwright and professor Anna Deavere Smith. It was based on interviews conducted in Los Angeles after the riots. For those who could not attend, the video above shows clips and interviews from dress rehearsal.

CSA moved into a new building at 2064 Stearns Road in University Circle during the summer. The production gives dance, visual arts, poetry and drama students an opportunity to perform in a black box theater that teacher and "Twilight" director Scott Miller says compares with the best in the country.
