Summer 2016 K-8 Programs
Elementary Summer Reading Academy (ESRA)
The Elementary Summer Reading Academy (ESRA) will give
District students currently in grades K-3, an opportunity to
participate in a six-week summer program. The academy design will
support and enhance a student’s positive feelings toward learning,
help them build greater confidence in their abilities and, most of all,
keep their skills sharp over the summer. Third grade ESRA students
are eligible to participate in two summer assessments approved by
the Ohio Department of Education and the District as part of the Third Grade Guarantee summer testing requirements.
ESRA important dates
- Academy classes for most students is Monday, June 6 through Friday, July 15
- Hours are 8:10 am to 12:45 pm Monday through Friday
- Breakfast and lunch will be provided daily
- It is critical for a student to attend all 29 days of instruction
IMPORTANT NOTE: No classes on Monday, July 4 due to the holiday
Summer 2016 High School Programs
The Cleveland Metropolitan School District (CMSD) Summer School Program is a credit recovery option for students in grades 9-12. The summer school program focuses on recovering core subject area credits with instruction via a blended online program from content certified teachers. Students will have flexibility of completing coursework on and off site.
CMSD is also offering a two week OFT Boot Camp for students in need of passing one or more parts of the Ohio Graduation Tests. Students will have the opportunity to attend one to two test prep sessions each day!
